Mechanical Engineer- Internship- Summer 2023

DEKA Research and Development, housed in Manchester, NH, has an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Engineering Intern to work in a dynamic Research and Development environment. 

DEKA offers Internships and Co-Ops for full time students* (must be at least 18 years of age). Internships last a minimum of 10 weeks, 12 preferred. All summer internships must start no later than June 19, 2023.

How will you make an impact?
  • Work with a mechanical group designing and testing medical products
  • Designing test fixtures
  • Creating and executing test procedures and generating write-ups to summarize test method and results
  • CAD work including solid modeling and drawings
  • Support the mechanical group and accomplish tasks with minimal direction

Skills we are looking for:
  • Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Mechanical Engineering program
  • Mechanical aptitude and hands on mechanical experience (working on cars, fixing bicycles or FIRST robotics a plus)
  • Solidworks (or other CAD program) experience
  • Knowledge of creating manufacturing drawings
  • Experience with Rapid Prototyping
  • Experience with data aquisition and data presentation (Python or Lab VIEW experience a plus)
  • Knowledge of thermodynamics and fluid mechanics (CFD experience a plus)
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be detailed oriented
