Position Description:
This position will also provide direct support to the Talent Acquisition team and the full cycle recruitment process. This includes but is not limited to creating job ads and posting open positions, scheduling interviews, creating interview materials, assisting with virtual and in person interviews, conducting pre-employment and coordinating the completion of new hire paperwork for employees. This position will also deal with confidential records to complete data entry, sort records, maintain databases and other related tasks. This position will help support the PWD Human Resources division by providing office administrative assistance. This includes but is not limited to responding to employee requests both from employees and the general public.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education and/or Equivalent Experience: 
  • Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent, plus three (3) years of experience in a field related to the job.
  • Additional education may substitute for one (1) year of the required experience up to a maximum of three (3) years.

Travel:
The Public Works Department is comprised of multiple facilities located throughout Austin. If you are selected for this position and meet the Driver Safety Standards in the City of Austin (click here: Driver Safety Program) you may drive when necessary to different locations as part of your regular job duties. Otherwise, you are responsible for getting to and from these locations.

Additional Information:
This position will require a pre-employment Criminal Background Investigation (CBI). If you are identified as a top candidate, verification of your education, which may include High School graduation or GED, undergraduate and/or graduate degrees, will be required.
