Snr. Process Engineer (South Korea)

As part of our PEALD Process Development team, you will be involved with developing new processes and applications in state-of-art integrated device flows. You get the chance to work in one of the most advanced scientific fields in the world and still see your inventions in tomorrow’s products out in the market.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Works with semiconductor processing equipment to research, develop and optimize processes to pattern thin films
  • Develops new thin film processes and applications of in the areas of logic, memory, analog, power and MEMS.
  • Designs and conducts experiments, measurements and performs the interpretation of complex experimental output
  • Has a hands-on approach when troubleshooting equipment
  • Works with other ASM and customers R&D teams to understand and define requirements in order to successfully execute projects and demonstrations
  • Ensures successful product transfer to customer base by performing demonstrations, knowledge transfer, and traveling when needed to support other ASM sites
  • Delivers creative solutions, creates inventions and develops intellectual property
 
Requirements:
  • PhD degree in physics, chemistry, chemical engineering or materials science, preferably with a thesis related to the semiconductor or adjacent industries.
  • The following experience and/or knowledge is an advantage:
  • Experience with thin film deposition or dry etching techniques
  • Experience with processing, developing and characterizing thin films
  • Understanding of physics of semiconductor devices
  • Experience with materials characterization techniques such as XPS, SIMS, RBS, AFM, XRR, XRD, TEM, SEM, electrical characterization and ellipsometry
  • Being able to understand semiconductor wafer processing equipment technology, advanced chemistries and the physics of semiconductor devices and materials
  • Understanding of the interplay between hardware design and process outputs.
