Space Communications and Navigation (SCaN) Internships
The Space Communications and Navigation Internship Project (SIP) at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center hosts 60-80 students annually with paid positions available for high school up through doctoral candidates. In addition to cutting-edge technical work with your NASA mentor, SIP offers additional tailored professional development and networking opportunities. Our summer 2023 opportunities are looking for talented students in:
- Engineering (aerospace, electrical, network, radio, software, systems, and telecommunications)
- Physics
- Mathematics
- STEM Education
- Technical Writing
- Business
- Data analysis
- And more!
Our summer internships are 10-week, full-time commitments from June 5th-August 11th. Students interested in developing and managing technologies for space communications and navigation should apply at https://intern.nasa.gov/, title keyword ‘SCaN.’ All positions are paid; stipends vary based on academic level.
Note that NASA internships require:
- U.S. Citizenship
- GPA of 3.0+
- Current full-time enrollment
Summer 2023 is likely to be a hybrid (some positions onsite, some virtual/remote) internship experience, but an official decision by the agency is still pending. Applications through https://intern.nasa.gov/ close March 1st 2023.
