Internship details
Engage Dallas has worked to secure a variety of internship opportunities with unique deliverables. Rather than applying to a specific internship, students can apply for an Engage Dallas Internship and be matched with an internship.
Start and end date
The start date is June 5th and the end date is August 11th, however, these dates are adaptable depending on both candidate and employer availability. Some opportunities require weekend and night work.
Selection Process
Interested applicants are encouraged to apply on or before February 28th at 5:00pm by submitting their resume, a short cover letter sharing their interest in the Engage Dallas Internship Program, and a brief questionnaire. SMU staff will review application materials and match candidates with employers -- there are no interviews for these positions.
The Engage Dallas Internship program follows a detailed matching process. To streamline the internship process and best match candidates desired learning outcomes to community partner needs, the Hegi Family Career Development Center will match interns with the position of best fit based on the desired learning outcomes and goals of the applicant and the needs of the employer. Upon a successful match, students will sign an offer letter provided by the Hegi Family Career Development Center. Employers will receive the intern's resume, cover letter, and pre-reflection indicating the intern's goals and desired outcomes from the internship experience.
