Intern: DTCO for advanced CMOS

As an intern at Synopsys, you will gain hands-on experience while working alongside industry professionals. You will develop and refine skills relevant to your major and future career by contributing to high-impact business projects. The Synopsys intern program integrates our interns into the culture with career opportunities upon graduation. This summer internship is full-time (40 hours/week) beginning May/June 2023 and will last three months.


The purpose of this internship is to explore PPAC (Power, Performance, Area, and Cost) of GAA (Gate All Around) and CFET (Complementary Field Effect Transistors) technologies using a prototype DTCO platform, going from design rules and process assumptions to a logic block scale. The idea is for the intern to bring expertise in logic library characterization and in place-and-route of logic blocks that would complement the expertise of our team in creating virtual PDK (Process Design Kit) and create meaningful DTCO examples that can be delivered to the industry and published at the conferences and technical journals.


  • Understanding of logic circuit design
  • Understanding of silicon logic technology
  • Basic knowledge of TCAD tools
  • Basic knowledge of circuit simulation SPICE tools
  • Good writing and presentation skills

The base salary range across the U.S. for this role is between $24.00 - $48.00/hr.
