Media Intern (Spring 2023)

TRG
Do you ever wonder how Facebook knows that you were just surfing for a paddleboard? Do you ever think about why you and your friends see different ads? Do you want to learn why advertisers choose to run their ads on TV vs. billboards vs. TikTok? If so, then perhaps you should consider a career in media strategy, an industry that uses data, research, and art to market goods and services to consumers.

TRG is seeking a media strategy intern to join our agency. The TRG intern experience is like that of an entry-level hire, as our interns play active roles on the teams they are assigned to and gain exposure to the planning process at TRG and all media subdisciplines.

We take pride in the fact that many of our interns earn the opportunity to join the agency on a full-time, permanent basis.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Work closely with media strategists during the planning and reporting processes
  • Spend time researching target audiences and current media trends, gaining an understanding of print, out-of-home, broadcast, and digital media
  • Assist with budget planning and plan execution, including entering goals, trafficking digital campaigns, and preparing insertion orders (IOs) for vendors
  • Prepare buy recap reports and digital media performance reports, analyzing data trends and providing optimization recommendations
  • Additional learning opportunities: participate in the intern shadowing series to gain exposure to subject matter expert teams, media systems training, and weekly intern seminar series with interns from across the agency
  • Work alongside other TRG interns from our Strategy Collective (brand strategy and digital strategy) on a semester-long project

What You Are Good At
  • Maintaining an eagerness to learn
  • Managing your time and handling multiple projects at once
  • Paying attention to details and staying organized

What You Have In Your Background
  • A passion for media and/or advertising
  • Experience in Keynote, Microsoft Excel, and other Microsoft Suite products
  • A bachelor’s degree (or currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree), and the ability to work at least 20 hours or more a week (up to 40 hours)
  • Relevant internship or coursework in media and/or advertising
