Job Description: Merchandising Internship: Summer 2023 

Our Weissman Summer Internship is a 10 week program based in our St. Louis office. Participants of our intern program will gain valuable hands-on experience to include, but not limited to, industry training, cross-functional departmental exposure, and a final project presentation at the end of the summer.
 
Dates: May 29th, 2023 - August 5th, 2023 (10 Weeks, Paid Internship)

Position Summary: Weissman Intern is responsible for providing administrative assistance and organizational support to the corresponding department. Interns are assigned a mentor within the department to collaborate with throughout the program. Interns have a primary focus on completing a project with partners from cross-functional teams. At the end of the summer, the final project will be presented to the leadership team. After successful completion of the internship, there is an opportunity to become eligible for full-time employment. 
 
Merchandising Intern Responsibilities: 
 
Merchandising Project:

Administrative and Organization Support: Responsible for tasks such as data entry, organization of samples and supplies, catalog and website proofing, etc. to gain hands-on experience within Merchandising systems and tools, familiarize themselves with product, and offer support to the Merchandising department. 

Competitive Analysis: Assist with the creation and execution of the Merchandising Competitive Analysis presentations to gain knowledge about competitor brands, product offerings and identify possible assortment opportunities.
 
Sales Analysis: Complete sales analysis projects including color analysis, size analysis, web search term analysis, promotion analysis, survey score analysis, etc. to gain hands-on experience within Merchandising systems and tools, gain Microsoft Excel experience, and offer support to the Merchandising department. 

Ad Hoc Project Support: Involved in the creation and execution of projects as needed to enhance their learning experience. 

Managing Timelines: Meet all internal Merchandising and internship curriculum deadlines. Present final Merchandising project at conclusion of internship with cross-functional partners.

Strong Computer Skills: Ability to operate in Google systems, minimal Google Suite/Microsoft Excel skills 
Strong Visual Skills: Creative formatting skills for visual presentations and recaps 
Team Player: Works well in a collaborative team environment where diverse ideas and points of view and add value. An active contributor amongst team members. 

Qualifications: 

Currently enrolled in a college or university; Sophomore year or above. 
● Working towards a degree in Business or a related field - ideally specific to retail or Merchandising. 
● Proficiency in Google Suite, Microsoft Suite is a plus. 
● Ability to relocate to St. Louis, Missouri for the summer. 
● Knowledge of dance or activewear is a plus. 
● Available to participate in our full-time internship program from the end of May/June to August 2023. Work Hours: Monday-Friday 8:30am-5pm. 
● Eligible to work in the US without restrictions.
