Apparel Developer & Sourcing Intern

What You’ll Learn: 
  • How to monitor seasonal development progress: identifying cost, lead time, and MOQ issues to appropriate teams when needed
  • How to collaborate cross-functionally with merchandising, technical design & planning throughout all stages of development to execute brand objectives
  • How to maintain product specifications in PLM including updating bills of materials, prototype requests, and construction details- to ensure accurate tech packages and clear factory communication are sent for prototype initiation
  • How to analyze cost details, and validate cost components (fabric, trim, duty, freight, etc) in garment cost calculations to support negotiations
  • How to effectively manage external vendor relationships and daily communication to ensure products are up to specified quality standards and deliver on time
  • How to communicate daily with suppliers to proactively manage development issues
  • How to track samples and answer vendor questions in a timely manner to ensure key deliverables are met, and analyze accuracy and prototype on-time delivery rates
  • How to prepare necessary documents (i.e. costing & leadtime recaps, etc.) for milestone meetings
  • How to assist with lab dip, trim & strike-off comments, and organization of approval records

What We’re Looking For:
  • A current undergraduate student of Apparel Design, Business Supply Chain, or a similar program
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel
  • Clear communication skills
  • Knowledge of garment construction
  • A roll-up-your-sleeves kind of work ethic
  • A passion for sharing ideas and being a hands-on team member
  • The ability to complete projects with cross-functional partners
  • The ability to work well both independently and in a team environment
  • The ability to work on multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention-to-detail
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
