Accessories Designer/Developer Intern

What You’ll Learn: 
  • How to monitor seasonal development progress: identifying cost, lead time, and MOQ issues to appropriate teams when needed
  • How to collaborate cross-functionally with merchandising, technical design & planning throughout all stages of development to execute brand objectives
  • How to maintain product specifications in PLM including updating bills of materials, prototype requests, and construction details
  • How to research and select fabrics, trims, and material technologies that adhere to the high standards of the DTC brands
  • How to effectively manage external vendor relationships and daily communication to ensure products are up to specified quality standards and deliver on time
  • How to ideate and develop new styles across multiple categories
  • How to research & analyze market innovation, color, and industry trends to develop products in line with our customer needs
  • How to prepare necessary visual tools (i.e. sketches, presentation boards, fabric swatches, color standards, etc.) for meetings
  • How to update technical illustration files via Adobe Illustrator
  • How to assist with lab dip, trim & strike-off comments, and organization of approval records
  • How to build seasonal color palettes & chipboards
  • How to participate in seasonal local competitive shopping trips
  • How to provide constructive feedback on design intent and silhouette in fittings

What We’re Looking For:
  • A current undergraduate student of Product Design or a similar program
  • Proficient with Adobe Illustrator
  • Strong sketching and CAD abilities
  • A roll-up-your-sleeves kind of work ethic
  • A passion for sharing ideas and being a hands-on team member
  • The ability to complete projects with cross-functional partners
  • The ability to work well both independently and in a team environment
  • The ability to work on multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention-to-detail
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
