Product & Fragrance Development Intern

INTERNSHIP OVERVIEW:
Our internship program is a dynamic group of emerging, high potential rising university seniors who will have the opportunity to participate in a 10-week summer internship at the World’s Leading Fragrance Specialty Retailer. 
This internship will provide the opportunity for a comprehensive view of the various functional areas within specialty retail. You will have the opportunity to work along-side and learn from BBW associates who will provide training, development and engagement of your function and our Brand.

PROGRAM AREA:
Product & Fragrance Development Overview:
This opportunity will provide a top-down view of new product development in Home, Soap, and personal care products to broaden experience in the creative development of new products and understand functional and cross/functional team involvement. Intern will learn how product is evaluated-aesthetics, attributes, and fragrance. Including basic fragrance training and product evaluation skills. The intern will work closely with the Product and Fragrance Development team to understand and access trends and new product info.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Attend brainstorming session and present ideas. Work on the creative development of new product ideas
  • Search the Marketplace and evaluate existing and new products by each category and report findings. Compare products to existing and make recommendations for new products.
  • Special Project could include-Future Brand, Products, Forms, Rationale, etc.
  • Competitive Benchmarking/shopping and training for translation of prototypes to new forms
  • Tack/announce New competitive Product launch alerts.
  • Creative interpretations (visuals, profiles, boards, prototype development) for presentations.
  • Run Internal panel product/fragrance evaluation and compile feedback.

QUALIFICATIONS:
·    University current juniors pursuing their bachelor’s degree and in good academic standing
·    Must be able to work 40 hours per week during summer 2023
  • Late May to early August
·    Computer fluency with programs such as Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel
·    Innate curiosity and desire to learn, strong analytical and logical thinking skills
·    Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize
·    Have a strong passion for retail
 
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
·    Previous internship, customer service or leadership experience
·    Ability to manage through conflict and problem-solve
·    Strong communication and presentation skills; can concisely present complex information/recommendations in terms meaningful to various audiences
·    Able to work in a fast-paced environment
