The opportunity: your next adventure awaits.
Now is an exciting time to join the EY Forensic & Integrity Services group (“Forensics”) as uncertain regulatory and enforcement priorities and changing business models continue to push companies and their business partners to operate with integrity while balancing their risks. The Forensics practice has a specialty technology group that has two main service lines: Discovery Services and Forensic Data Analytics. Our professionals help organizations investigate alleged misconduct, mitigate technology and financial risks, and perform electronic evidence discovery in response to internal and external events. We also provide a broad range of solutions-based services to assist our clients with developing processes and identifying technologies to allow them to efficiently and effectively respond to investigations, digital forensic compromises and/or discovery obligations.
As a Forensic & Integrity Services technology intern, you will have the opportunity to explore all three of our consulting services (descriptions below) across various clients, projects and industries.
You’ll find that every day at EY is a new opportunity, as you’ll have plenty of variety working in different sectors, from banking to pharma to energy — where you’ll learn extensively about different workflows and IT infrastructures. We’ll need you to become a specialist, through mastering the fundamentals, with our clients by guiding them through difficult situations within operations and systems. You’ll learn a broad range of forensic workflows, tools, and analytical technologies and develop an intimate knowledge of discovery process and procedure as well as clients’ systems and intra-workings.
As a Forensic & Integrity Services intern, you will be introduced to Forensics’ various service offerings and digital forensics, discovery, and analytics toolsets during an extensive on-the-job training program. Once you have developed the necessary skills you will have the opportunity to assist local and global engagement teams on various projects ranging from internal investigations to discovery requests to solutions assessments—depending on your interests, capabilities, and travel preferences.
Discovery Services
The Discovery Services solution in Forensics is a Managed Service operation running 24/7 with both internally facing operational roles and client facing consulting roles. This team is responsible for providing evidence management, data processing, review support, and production services in support of investigations and litigation. This portfolio includes several high-profile matters and flagship clients. This position works directly with engagement teams and managers of the operations team to process e-discovery operational tasks that are managed and submitted through our internal workflow managements tool, and to perform quality control on the work of the analysts. Once evidence is collected, our professionals analyze it to identify and extract information of evidentiary value to the litigation, regulatory inquiry or investigation. We also provide services to support document review needs with an online review repository and advanced discovery analytics tools to help sift through electronic evidence quickly using data discovery, data mining and AI technologies including concept searching, duplicate analysis, email threading and predictive coding. As specialists in unstructured data, our experienced Discovery Services Information Governance specialists assist clients with navigating and managing terabytes upon terabytes of data in numerous ways including: identifying and protecting intellectual property, creating workflows to identify private and identifiable data, and reducing the data footprint by identifying redundant, outdated and trivial data.
Forensic Data Analytics Services
Our Forensic Data Analytics services offer insights and factual evidence to help companies manage legal, compliance and fraud risks. Our team combines extensive industry experience, data science and data analytics capabilities to help businesses detect and investigate instances of data breach, fraud, waste, misuse, abuse, corruption, noncompliance and cybercrime, and to assist them in regulatory or litigation responses.
Digital Investigations & Privacy

You will balance your time working with clients to understand their situation and assist in performing technical review and analysis of data. This will include investigating what happened and helping the client to determine the potential impact and how the company’s data was potentially misused. You will be helping clients assess and resolve insider threats on an ongoing basis for multiple clients at a time. That means thinking differently about the type of data misuse, identifying malicious insiders, improving the client’s data integrity, investigation methodology and mitigate privacy risks.
