Brand Strategy Intern (Spring 2023)

TRG
We’re looking for bright, hungry, independent thinkers who are ready to dive in and help us inspire creative people and build powerful brands. You will be thrown into the thick of the agency’s processes, working in highly collaborative teams to do real work to make sense of data, dig up insights, help the agency do great work, and help our clients succeed.

Is brand strategy the career you want? Let’s use the internship to find out.

A brand strategy internship is not a one-way street. Yes, we will invest in you, teaching you how we work and think, and use real-world client work to help you see how our world operates. However, we also want to learn from your fresh and sharp mind, and your curious and exploratory view of the world around you.

You will be part of an agency that is on a journey to build a fearless creative and collaborative culture fueled by an inclusive workforce helping our clients grow their brands. Speak up, be bold, share your ideas.

Help us build brands
  • Help us stay on the pulse of what our clients’ competitors are doing and saying, and help us understand the implications for our clients’ brands
  • Inspire the creative process
  • Hunt down and dissect cultural and social trends that are shaping our consumers’ lives, and share them with the team
  • Help us understand our consumers
  • Turn existing data (e.g., qualitative, quantitative, secondary, social listening research) into insights on the consumer
  • Be creative and persistent in searching for additional data on the customer and information on our client’s businesses
  • Share and present your great research and strategy findings with team members

What you’re good at
  • Creative problem-solving – You know there are many ways to crack a case, and you are excited to find and try new ones.
  • Asking thought-provoking, interesting, conversation-starting questions – You’re driven by a bright and lively mind, curiosity, and the need to dig beyond the surface. You love to ask why.
  • Listening – You get the value of hearing and absorbing other perspectives, especially when they are diverse or unfamiliar to you.
  • Communicating – You get excited to share your ideas, findings, and insights with others and can effectively convey your points, whether you are writing, building slides, or presenting.
  • Collaboration – You find joy in being part of an energized team, jumping in with your ideas but also having an open mind to other ideas and perspectives.
  • Being tenacious – Complicated requests, ambiguity, and deadlines don’t scare you; you embrace challenges as opportunities.

Ideally you’ll have
  • A bachelor’s degree; however, we are open to people with a wide range of educations and life experiences. The ideal candidate combines an understanding of people and culture with an understanding and appreciation of business, but the most essential thing is a curious and sharp mind.
  • Work experiences that help build an understanding and appreciation of people as consumers and of businesses
  • An interesting backstory or perspective on the world and culture
