Equity Manager

The City of Saint Paul and the Office of Human Resources are seeking an Equity Manager to oversee and coordinate the enterprise equity program. The Equity Manager will play a key role guiding the City in defining and creating equity and inclusion goals, objectives, and initiatives that advance equity for staff, customers, and Saint Paul residents. 

Performs strategic leadership, developing and advancing the enterprise equity and inclusion strategic plan and framework in coordination with the Human Resources Director and the Mayor’s Office. Guides the planning and implementation of equity and inclusion principles in related policies, programming, training, and other strategies. Continues efforts to build and sustain an equitable, diverse, and inclusive workplace. Provides oversight and coordination of the equity and inclusion work in the Office of Human Resources and across the City. Works in partnership with City Departments to develop educational opportunities for staff and residents for citywide equity and inclusion initiatives and goals. Represents the City and Human Resources (HR) Office working with elected officials, public and private organizations, community groups, and media. Performs related duties and responsibilities as required.

Information Specific to this Position:
This position will work in the City Hall Annex Building located at 25 West 4th Street, 200 City Hall Annex, Saint Paul, MN 55102 and is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement that includes a balance of work on-site and remote. Work will primarily be conducted during daytime business hours. The position will travel to different department locations across the City and attend community meetings and events as needed.

Requirements:
Eight years of progressively responsible experience in a majority of the following: supervising employees, conflict resolution and facilitation, assessing complex organizational issues or programs, program/policy development and analysis, project management, and strategic organizational planning.

Note: A combination of education and experience must total eight years or more.
Example: a bachelor's degree and four years of experience would qualify, or a master's degree and two years of experience.
