
Automation Engineering Intern
Location: Frederick, MD
We are currently seeking candidates who are working towards obtaining a Bachelor or Master degree in Engineering for a 10-12 week internship during the summer of 2023.
Objectives/Goals of the Position:
The intern will learn more about process and automation engineering, specifically, and biopharmaceutical manufacturing generally. The intern will learn and/or expand GMP knowledge and application. The intern will learn aspects of automation and process control. The intern will learn how to read drawings (P&ID, AF&D, wiring, etc.). The intern will contribute to the engineering team by identifying areas of inefficiency and improvement. The intern will also learn and implement lean principles and behaviors.
Primary Duties:
The primary duties are as follows: performing quality risk-based automation and validation design, specification redlining, programming, testing, and implementation of process automation in both a Rockwell-based process control system and an Emerson DeltaV distributed control system.
Requirements:
- Students working towards obtaining a Bachelor or Master degree in Engineering.
- Basic computer skills like Microsoft Office.
