Classroom Support Analyst / Information Technology Professional
The MSUIT Digital Classroom Services team (DCS) within the department of Educational Technology is responsible for learning spaces technology support in over 450 university classrooms and computer laboratories. The primary role of the team is real-time support for in-session classes when technology in classrooms fails. A timely response is vital to class continuity, as often lesson plans, learning activities, and assessments are dependent upon getting the expert assistance quickly.
The Classroom Support Analysts reports to the Supervisor of DCS and are charged with providing user support on an as-needed basis as requests and problems are reported. In some locations, DCS staff provide computer and laptop support as well. In addition, the position works with university stakeholders to design, purchase, configure, and distribute IT assets to meet business objectives throughout campus. A lot of this work requires commuting across campus, sometimes with significant IT assets.
The work schedule for this position is an afternoon shift: 1:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.

Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills
Knowledge normally acquired in the first two or three years of college, technical, vocational or business school; one to three years of related work experience in an information technology area related to the duties to be performed; OR a Bachelor's Degree; up to six months of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in an information technology are; or an equivalent combination of education and experience; valid vehicle operator’s license.
