Intervention Specialist - Part-Time
Stepping Stones seeks a part-time licensed Intervention Specialist in our Step Up Autism Alternative Education program.
Step Up is a unique program that partners with Greater Cincinnati public schools to provide an alternative education placement for students who are unable to succeed in a typical classroom setting. Students continue their studies at Stepping Stones’ Given Campus in Indian Hill and receive the tools they need to navigate an academic curriculum, transition into adulthood and more fully participate in their community.
This part-time Intervention Specialist position is a hybrid role -- working both remotely and in-person at our Given Campus in Indian Hill.
Prepare and provide weekly lesson plans that follow the Ohio Extended State Standards. Review and collaborate with classroom instructors and the Director of Education Services to develop meaningful lesson plans, assist with progress monitoring of IEP goals, representing the agency at IEP meets and assisting in providing alternate assessments of students to ensure an optimal learning experience.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- REMOTE WORK (10 Hours Per Week): Develop lesson plans, track progress of student IEP goals, maintain communication with local school districts and parents
- IN-PERSON WORK (~6 to 8 Hours Per Week): Provide instructional minutes for IEP goals, offer feedback and guidance to educational aides regarding intervention strategies, instructional techniques and managing the classroom
- This role may also assist in the preparation and/or administration of Ohio Alternative Assessments and developing or modifying Behavioral Intervention Plans and Functional Behavior Assessments
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Special Education
- Current K-12 moderate-to-severe Intervention Specialist licensing in Ohio
- Ability to maintain and keep current all professional licensing and related certifications
- Excellent attention to detail with strong time management and organizational skills
- Ability to commute to Stepping Stones' Given Campus and provide in-person academic instruction for student IEP goals a couple hours/days per week
- Has completed or has the ability to complete CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) training
- Ability to develop meaningful lesson plans that support student goals and meet curriculum guidelines
COMPENSATION:
- $28 - $32 per hour
