Mandarin Research Assistant - NJ Population Cohort Study
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Temporary Research Assistant, for the Institute for Health, Health Care Policy and Aging Research and the New Jersey Population Cohort Study.
*****Applicants must be fluent in Mandarin for reading, writing, and speaking. *****
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- Perform research involving structured interviewing and other data collection with community members, parents, adolescents, government officials, tenants, landlords, and others in conjunction with the New Jersey Population Cohort Study.
- Managing logistics for ongoing studies
- Recruitment including telephone and in-person solicitation, enrollment and data management and preparation
- Survey administration along the administration of optional study components including saliva sample collection
- Community outreach and engagement
- Data analysis and writing for grant proposals and publishable articles
Preferred Qualifications
- Pursuing a master’s or advanced degree
- Working knowledge and the ability to use basic spreadsheet, word-processing, and database and analytical software for data analyses, such as STATA, SAS, R, mplus, and HLM.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, and computer literacy
- Experience and familiarity with research on aging populations.
- Ability to record and maintain data in computerized and non-computerized formats.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Effective client service skill.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required as this is a FIELD-BASED position.
