Network Engineer

The Principal Solutions Engineer for Network Slicing & Edge Compute is part of the DISH Wireless Solutions Engineering organization and is responsible for the definition, architecture, and end-to-end design of key technology solutions for DISH Enterprise wireless services. We’re looking for a Solutions Engineer with extensive wireless experience in 4G, 5G, and WiFi including deep software and protocol expertise for the development, configuration, and implementation of end-to-end network slice(s) to/from User-Equipment (UE), RAN, and 5G Core in a Stand-Alone deployment, both public and private. In addition, you must understand the architecture trade-offs / benefits of deploying application workloads at the edge on cloud-native platforms including kubernetes / microservices for advanced technologies such as video analytics / computer vision, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), and Augmented Reality (AR) / Virtual Reality (VR).
You should be comfortable white-boarding complex hardware / software architectures with a room full of engineers, translating those ideas into product requirements, and explaining the solution in simple terms to an executive audience (both technical and non-technical stakeholders).
The solutions engineer will work closely with the product manager(s), internal cross-functional teams, vendors / suppliers, and end customers to create an overall strategic technical vision and roadmap for DISH Enterprise wireless services.
We expect you to not only be a visionary but you must show demonstrable evidence from your past work experience where you have taken big ideas and successfully launched, maintained, and scaled innovative wireless products and services.
