Intern: Custom Compiler Custom Routing

As an intern at Synopsys, you will gain hands-on experience while working alongside industry professionals. You will develop and refine skills relevant to your major and future career by contributing to high-impact business projects. The Synopsys intern program integrates our interns into the culture with career opportunities upon graduation. This summer internship is full-time (40 hours/week) beginning May/June 2023 and will last three months.

Responsibilities:

You will enhance the Custom Compiler Custom Routing platform to more efficiently process and manage non-rectilinear design elements such as I/O bumps or base layer structures. Non-rectilinear design shapes currently have a significant negative impact on performance for our routing tools especially the interactive ones. You will be expected to develop new high quality data structures to better manage non-rectilinear design elements with a focus of efficiency and interface speed. In addition, related visual debugging tools would need to be developed and integrated in our routing flow(s). Expected responsibilities would also include documentation and regression testing of the new functionalities.

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in C++ (C++14/C++17)
  • Proficiency in efficient data structures and algorithms
  • Proficiency in coding design patterns
  • Good communication skills
  • Team work
  • Currently enrolled in college pursing a relevant degree
