Bass Pro Shops Internship Program offers a 10-week immersive work program giving students a holistic overview of the business focusing on career and competency development while gaining valuable experience with a multifaceted company.

Working alongside talented individuals, you will be jumping in to assist with projects, research and work experience that directly impacts our business. As a key-player on the team, you will have professional development and networking opportunities with leadership in the organization to build your professional brand.

We can’t forget about the fieldtrips! You will have the opportunity to take team trips to learn about the many areas of our business. We will visit our Granddaddy retail store, Big Cedar Lodge and our Boat Manufacturing Plants offering a behind-the-scenes overview of the organization to get an immersive experience about our passion for the outdoors and conservation.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The intern will be supporting various reporting and data analysis associated with Learning and Development, Communications, Retail Operations and New CLUB Member Acquisition. Leverage the intern to gain and evaluate feedback from store teams on various performance, communication, and learning strategies. There will be other projects associated with the business and current initiatives throughout the summer, these will be developed prior to the interns start date. Leverage the intern’s execution of their responsibilities to gain a better understanding of the overall effectiveness of various new and existing strategies. The growth and development of a future Outfitter for the organization in addition to results of their responsibilities fueling changes to existing strategies and the development of new strategies.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Review of existing program tracking and available data to evaluate the effectiveness and or performance of select areas of the business. Gain feedback on retail program from CLUB Managers and store teams, review and analyze feedback and present findings to business and leadership.
  • The intern will be supported with a clear vision provided by leadership of what needed, a close supporting mentor to provide ongoing guidance and oversight.
  • Basic Specialist / Analysts technology and workspace needs.  
  • Retail Seasonal Onboarding content development and communication strategy – Field and Leadership feedback, Presentation update, facilitation guide, Roll plays, and communication.
  • Long term Hat inventory and spoilage evaluation. Effectiveness of the spoilage tracking, communication and follow up strategy, and proposed go forward alignment proposal with leadership.
  • CLUB Acquisition at offsite effectiveness evaluation and brand representation guidance – review of the retail offsite acquisition performance with swag and promo influence, impacts to key growth and loyalty metrics, and communication / alignment development surrounding full brand representation with CLUB integration. Project would be completed in collaboration with a member of the CLUB Field Team.  
  • CMM and Store Leadership Communication Effectiveness Feedback – developing a strategy to gain feedback with CLUB Communication, identifying themes, and presenting findings to leadership.

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum Education Required: Completion of Junior year of college through graduating year.
  • Minimum GPA: 3.0
  • Preferred Major: Business or Related
  • Available for full commitment of 10-week program (40 hours/week)
  • Currently enrolled in accredited college or university in pursuit of bachelor’s degree in related field
  • Eligible to work in the US
  • Ability to relocate to work location for the duration of the program

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:
  • MS Office Knowledge specific to Excel, PPT, Word, Outlook
  • Strong verbal and writing communication skills
  • Outgoing personality, interested in evaluating data that will be used to tell a story, and excited with learn and work with subject matter experts in various business units that support with Learning and Development, Communications, Retail Operations and New CLUB Member Acquisition

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Travel required varies based on internship, minimal.

INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT:
  • Performs tasks and duties under direct supervision, using well-defined policies and procedures. Work is reviewed by supervisor. Limited opportunity exists for exercising independent judgment and decision making.
