Pay rate is $25/hour
Full-time; 37.5 hours per week
ABA’s Internship provides students with a paid opportunity to work with one of the biggest trade associations in Washington, DC. This extremely selective opportunity provides students with the opportunity to do substantial work in various divisions across ABA, connect with leadership, build a network, and make a difference.
ABA Summer Internships are hybrid with at least 2 days a week in our DC office.
Primary Responsibilities
- Assist in compiling and analyzing fraud mitigation documents and data, participating in working groups and subject matter expert discussion, performing training material reviews and data/system entry and maintenance related tasks
- Research content for weekly risk newsletter and bank robbery summary, providing project and committee support to physical and cyber security groups
- Assist regulatory counsel in drafting and revising the IT regulatory handbook (could earn co-author credit upon publication of the booklet)
- Opportunity may be available to review regulatory proposals, draft summaries, and attend policy calls, working groups, and meetings
Required Skills
- Specific working knowledge is not required, but should have an interest in fraud schemes, regulatory issues, physical and cybersecurity
- Excellent communication and editing skills
- Ability to work independently, think critically, and provide recommendations for improving existing processes
- Some college course work in the area of law, cyber or white collar crime is a plus
Minimum Education Requirements
- Junior/Senior standing or Graduate student with a degree focus in Business, IT or related field.
- Minimum 3.0 GPA
