Planning & Allocation Summer Intern

Overview 

The Express Summer Internship Program is a 10-week paid program that offers undergraduate Juniors and Seniors the opportunity to work with and learn from experienced professionals while gaining exposure to various aspects of a retail fashion company. The Summer Intern class will include students interested in hands-on experience in an area of interest and exposure to cross-functional collaboration as well as gaining valuable professional development.

The 2023 program runs from June 5th to August 11th, and positions will be available in our Columbus, Ohio headquarters.

Responsibilities 
  • Develop, in collaboration with the merchant, pre-season category plans that aid in the development of the Strategic View of the Line (SVL) 
  • Develop department and key item sales and inventory plans that align with company strategy 
  • Create choice level sales and buy plans that align with tops down strategy 
  • Analyze choice level sales history and use data to inform future buys 
  • Analyze and reforecast financial strategies using current trend 
  • Leverage historical sales information and future forecasts to distribute units to multi-channel businesses 
  • Analyze size selling information to forecast future size level buys 
  • Understand allocation strategies and algorithms used in determining store level needs 
  • Attend GTM and weekly sales meetings

Requirements 
  • Availability to work full time (40 hours per week) 
  • Preferred GPA at or above 3.2
