Bass Pro Shops Internship Program offers a 10-week immersive work program giving students a holistic overview of the business focusing on career and competency development while gaining valuable experience with a multifaceted company.

The White River Marine Group has its headquarters at Base Camp in Springfield, MO alongside Bass Pro Shops, Cabela’s, and Big Cedar Lodge. In fact, our company is the world’s largest builder of fishing and recreational boats by volume. Our diverse product lines meet the needs of everyone from farm pond fishermen to offshore saltwater anglers.

We can’t forget about the fieldtrips! You will have the opportunity to take team trips to learn about the many areas of our business. We will visit our Granddaddy retail store, Big Cedar Lodge and our Boat Manufacturing Plants offering a behind-the-scenes overview of the organization to get an immersive experience about our passion for the outdoors and conservation.

POSITION SUMMARY:
Participate in sourcing projects & supplier quality initiatives. Primary areas of focus include searching/evaluating prospective suppliers for identified category needs and reviewing supplier quality data to identify trends and opportunities. This role will support new product development, first article inspection / production part approval process, competitive quote process, supplier selection, part activation, supplier corrective action request, warranty cost data review, supplier scorecard development & utilization. The main objective for this role is to support strategic sourcing opportunities, adding value through data collection/evaluation from our subscription-based tools.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Open project support
  • Data collection and review
  • Using our subscription websites to gather and review data for small group presentation.
  • Analyzing Supplier Corrective Action Request (SCAR) data for trends and areas of opportunity.

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum Education Required: Completion of Junior year of college through graduating year.
  • Minimum GPA: 3.0
  • Preferred Major: Supply Chain Management, Finance and General Business
  • Available for full commitment of 10-week program (40 hours/week)
  • Currently enrolled in accredited college or university in pursuit of bachelor’s degree in related field
  • Eligible to work in the US
  • Ability to relocate to work location for the duration of the program

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:
  • Individual project with input and support from sourcing, purchasing, engineering and executive leadership.
  • Gathering data, presenting findings and suggesting path forward
  • Microsoft Suite
  • Excel data manipulation

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Travel required varies based on internship. Day travel to manufacturing locations in Missouri and Arkansas may occur from Base Camp in Springfield, MO.

INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT:
  • Performs tasks and duties under direct supervision, using well-defined policies and procedures. Work is reviewed by supervisor. Limited opportunity exists for exercising independent judgment and decision making.
