Field Engineering Internship (Summer and Fall)
Location: Berea, OH
Geo-Sci is seeking driven, energetic, and passionate students to join our Cleveland team for the SUMMER AND FALL 2023 SEMESTERS! That's right, this is a 6 month internship opportunity.
Job Description:
You will use your skills and training to work in client-focused environments, and with our project managers. The general responsibilities of your position will be to conduct field and laboratory testing of concrete, soil, asphalt, and aggregates, and relay your findings to clients and project managers.
Typical duties:
- Travel to various jobsite locations throughout Northeast Ohio
- Ensure compliance with construction site specifications
- Perform sampling and testing as needed
- Consult with project team regarding construction requirements
- Maintain testing equipment
- Prepare required reports and timesheets
- Provide assistance to other field and/or laboratory personnel
- Perform lab work
- Will be placed in a progressively increased role of training and responsibility in work assignments.
Requirements:
- High school diploma and BS degree in progress in a science or related field (civil engineering, environmental engineering, engineering, geology).
- Valid driving license and good driving record
- Ability to obtain ACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician—Grade 1 certification
- Ability to work in all weather conditions
- Ability to lift up to 70lb for short periods of time
