Industrial Engineering Intern - Summer 2023

*Note regarding location: While the posting says the location will be Mount Olive, this role could be based at any of our plants depending upon where the need is at the time of the internship.*

The industrial engineering intern position is meant to provide an encompassing experience through a variety of projects that support our business within the IE department. You will collaborate with the continuous improvement, industrial engineering, research & development, accounting, and operations teams. Some of the work will be to evaluate processes, perform time studies, build direct labor standards, and provide labor calculations to feed product costs.
Function:
  • Projects - Main goals will be to assist the industrial engineering team with plant processes, production, and direct labor standards. The goals will align with those of the industrial engineering team’s yearly objectives. The project timeline will be structured to coincide with the time allotment for the internship.
  • Responsibilities – Work and communicate with personnel on the plant floor, operations management, research & development, and accounting. We will evaluate processes, perform time studies, build direct labor standards, and provide labor calculations to accounting.
Requirements:
  • Discipline: currently enrolled in at least sophomore year pursuing a degree in Industrial Engineering, Industrial Technology, Manufacturing Engineering Technology, or related discipline.
  • Extracurricular: active participation in a campus or community organization.
  • Analytical skills: ability to interpret data and problem solve; proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, specifically Excel.
  • Communication: collaborative team player with strong verbal communication skills.
  • Project management: strong work ethic with ability to meet project deadlines.
  • Work: history of work prior to college and/or during college.
Location:
  • This internship will be located in one of our manufacturing plants in AR, MO, or NC.
