Market Access Intern

This summer internship will offer college and university students an amazing opportunity to gain hands on experience within the pharmaceutical industry. This program allows students to work closely with business leaders while obtaining industry insight. Interns will be tasked with both individual and group projects. The Sunovion Internship Program will offer additional workshops and seminars for your career and professional development. We are seeking talented individuals within multiple areas across the organization.

Specific Internship Description:
This internship will be designed with the business need and candidate interest in mind but would be integrated into our Market Access team as a key contributor in 2 areas:
  • After learning key concepts and data assets involved with Market Access customer performance measurements, this person would be assigned 1 - 2 key enhancements to execute and improve the visibility of KPIs for our field teams.  They would work with various teams to gather requirements, design and build the enhancement in our existing BI platform, and communicate the results to end users.
  • After learning key concepts and processes related to Market Access revenue contracting, this person would play an active role in the Revenue Management System upgrade project to evaluate and test capabilities and workflows and have input into process changes.

Learning Goals:
  • Learn key concepts and functional processes involved within the Market Access function at a pharmaceutical manufacturer.
  • Apply data and analytics skills to help improve performance insights into Payers, PBMs, and Integrated Delivery Networks.
  • Apply data and analytics skills to help with financial modeling and projections of contracted revenue and discounting strategies.
  • Identify and define common or unique business terminology     
  • Gain insight into the pharmaceutical industry.              
  • Develop skills to interact with various levels of Management in a professional manner.         
  • Learn to interact with diverse personalities.
  • Develop organizational skills to complete a project in a timely manner
  • Lead/Assist with the delivery of 1 enhancement measuring Market Access customer performance using our M2lytics BI tool.  The scope of this project will include some light project management, requirement gathering, and understanding of technical build processes.
  • Lead/Assist with the delivery of 1 process change related to Revenue Contracting and Operations.  This will also include some light project management and working through change management and training opportunities with the team.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Enrolled in graduate degree program in Business Analytics, Financial Analysis, Healthcare Informatics, General Business
  • Must have completed their sophomore year of study by Summer 2023
  • Authorization to work in the U.S. without requiring sponsorship
  • Abide by corporate policies, work in professional environment, and meet deadlines
  • Experience using Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word.)
  • Strong communication skills and passion for continued development
  • Covid-19 Vaccinations are required

Program Details:
  • Position will begin on Monday June 5, 2023
  • Position is located remotely in the US with some in-office visits possible
  • Position is full-time Monday through Friday – up to 40 hours per week
  • Candidates should be available to commit to 10 weeks
