Security Specialist, Associate (Temp)
2 Year temp position with option for permanent.
Maintains a comprehensive inventory control and custody program for customer device handling.
Enforces Security policies and procedures for the Customer Engineering Security inventory custody and control program for customer device handling. Supports QCT engineering efforts by managing customer test hardware inventory throughout the engineering design cycle.
Coordinates, and implements, pertinent Security measures to ensure project policies and procedures are followed. Support a chain of custody and inventory management system leveraging Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Salesforce.
Conducts periodic physical and electronic audits of controlled inventory. Conducts periodic security audits of areas where project-related materials are stored, identifies vulnerabilities, and creates action plans to mitigate risks.
Implements best practices procedures for controlling access, transport, and return of project-related materials. Arranges for secure transport of project-related materials and escorts material in transit as required. Identifies and periodically audits secure transport firms/facilities.
Conducts security audits of customer project areas including submitting written reports highlighting security deficiencies and recommended mitigations. Performs work needed to complete approved mitigations. Maintains security awareness program for employees working on customer projects including conducting awareness training to these employees.
This position is Monday – Friday, during normal business engineering hours but may require working overtime during the day, night, and weekends. The position is generally on call 24/7 with possible working in shifts.
Minimum Requirements
Basic understanding of mobile technology, security, and chain of custody methods. Ability to work in and travel between multiple locations including customer and Qualcomm facilities around the world. Ability to ship, receive, and hand carry hardware via ground or air transportation is required. Experience in customer service environments, critical path planning, and procurement is required.
Preferred Requirements
1-2 years work experience preferably in maintaining an inventory custody and control program or similar tightly controlled environment. Experience or knowledge in product hardware engineering development cycle for mobile electronics. Experience in Excel, SalesForce, PowerPoint, MS Word, and data modelling.
A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is strongly preferred.
