SPEECH LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST
Responsibilities:
- Conduct diagnostic assessments of students to determine eligibility for special education services
- Prepare written reports upon completion of the evaluation
- Collaborate with regular and special education teachers, school psychologists, team chairpersons, and other professional staff to make recommendations and develop IEPs
- Provide direct speech and language therapy as outlined by the IEP
- Monitor and document progress toward IEP goals
- Create and coordinate a schedule of services for students to ensure all IEP requirements are met
- Consult with staff and assist with AAC implementation
Qualifications:
- Speech Language Pathologist licensing by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education and Massachusetts Division of Professional Licensure required
- Certificate of Clinical Competence granted by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association highly preferred
- Master’s Degree from an accredited institution
- Experience with autism spectrum disorders and augmentative/alternative communication strategies preferred
- Knowledge of behavior management and motivation strategies preferred
- Knowledge of state and federal special education regulations
- Strong ability to multitask and work in an fast paced environment
