***This is a 2-year limited-term position with the potential to extend***

This position functions as the financial liaison for grants awarded by the Oil, Gas, and Minerals Division (OGMD) and the Materials Management Division (MMD). Duties of this position include identifying financial categories, and reporting conditions, developing reports to track expenditures, analyzing information to assure compliance with federal and state regulations, developing reports for management, and reviewing/approving grant agreements and payments. This position also serves as a backup for other functions within the Administration Section.


The work location for this position is Lansing. However, the selected candidate may be eligible for a hybrid work schedule (a combination of remote and in-person) or a fully remote work schedule (with occasional travel to their official work location). Employees approved for schedules that include remote work must complete that work within Michigan. When working remotely, employees must use a designated workspace that is safe and professionally appropriate, allows for privacy, minimizes distractions, and includes secure internet access. Details regarding work location and schedule options for this position may be discussed during the interview process.
Required Education and Experience
Education
Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major with at least 24 semester (36 term) credits in accounting, finance, and economic courses.
 
Experience

Financial Analyst 9
No specific type or amount is required.

Financial Analyst 10
One year of professional experience providing a systematic review, analysis, interpretation, and/or evaluation of budgets, mortgages, loans, or other financial data, equivalent to a Financial Analyst 9.

Financial Analyst P11
Two years of professional experience providing a systematic review, analysis, interpretation, and/or evaluation of budgets, mortgages, loans, or other financial data, equivalent to a Financial Analyst, including one year equivalent to a Financial Analyst 10.
Alternate Education and Experience
College credits may be substituted on a proportional basis (one year of college education may substitute for one quarter of the required experience) for up to one half of the required experience.
