Software Engineer Internship

The Job Details are as follows:
The Technical Intern will work closely with the research scientists and software engineer on multiple research projects that utilize OCLC system data, such as WorldCat and QuestionPoint. The Technical Intern will assist with programming and data analysis and will need to adhere to timelines.
 
We are seeking a Software Development Intern for our summer internship program. Dates for the internship will be from May 15th, 2023 to August 11th, 2023 working full time.
 
This role will perform software development tasks commensurate with skills and experience. Develop software utilities and test tools. Modify existing software such as enhancing user interfaces. 
 
Responsibilities:
    * Intern will be part of an experienced team of software developers who frequently release enhancements and new products for use by OCLC libraries, and will see their work used in production services.  
    * Focus on addressing top priority defects would result in our customers feeling their voices being heard and taking actionable improvements that doesn’t impact our velocity for project commitment.
 
Qualifications:
    * Degree-seeking college student enrolled as Junior or Senior pursuing major in Computer Science or related degree. 
    * Completion of first-level engineering courses. 
    * Good familiarity with a programming language such as Java or C or C++, preference in Java.  Experience with XML, HTML, JavaScript, SQL, relational databases a plus. 
    * Strong written and verbal communication skills
 
    * Strong problem solving and analytic skills
    * Excellent customer and team-interaction skills
