Job Responsibilities:

About the position: 
This position is responsible for collaborating on the COVID-Net Emerging Infections Program (EIP) surveillance activity with contractors at Emory/Atlanta VA Medical Center. The position will have a liaison role in ensuring accurate and efficient data flow between COVID-Net surveillance and COVID-19 notifiable disease surveillance emphasizing improvement in surveillance processes and data quality. The position will collaborate with other EIP staff and IT staff on data collection/information systems. Other duties include assisting with electronic lab reporting (ELR) of cases in the EIP catchment area, completing case report forms and conducting patient interviews. The position will also support Monkeypox EIP activities as well as other assigned EIP activities.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Coordinates data sharing of COVID-19 and Monkeypox data between DPH and EIP.
  • Assists contractors with ensuring data are clean and timely
  • Participates in other EIP projects and surveillance activities
  • Works with EIP DPH and Contract staff and IT to ensure efficiency of EIP data systems as they relate to COVID-19 and Monkeypox. This includes ensuring timely and accurate integration of ELR data for the COVID-Net catchment.
  • Performs various duties in support of EIP team and ADES section operations.

Minimum Qualifications:
Master's degree in Public Health or closely related field from an accredited college or university 
OR
Bachelor's degree in any field from an accredited college or university AND Two years of experience performing epidemiologic work or work in a closely related field.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • MPH or MSPH, awarded by an Association of Schools of Public Health accredited program
  • MPH or MSPH concentration in epidemiology or biostatistics
  • One year of work experience performing the work of an Epidemiologist 1
