Public Health Analyst

Duties

• Perform independent public health policy research, and or public health policy evaluation, as well as other programmatic activities to further organization's goals and objectives.
• Apply public health principles to policy research.
• Provide leadership, expert technical advice, and coordination in policy research and policy development that will influence public health practice.
• Develop and maintain systems to analyze complex and highly visible actions such as public health legislation, executive directives, Departmental policy issuances, voluntary changes in practice by influential organizations or groups, as well as other influential statements of policy with the potential to impact the activities of the division and center.
• Brief senior management at CDC, HHS and the legislative and executive branches, as appropriate, on the unit's key activity issues and activities.
• Communicate externally on matters related to program activities and program related public health and health policies to policy-oriented audiences as well as to members of the public.
• Supervise a small contingent of positions.
