NNL is seeking an experienced construction field engineer for the Construction Engineering Organization at the Naval Reactors Facility (NRF) located in the beautiful, picturesque Southeast Idaho area. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to live in beautiful Southeast Idaho! The region offers abundant outdoor opportunities and is located approximately an hour from Yellowstone National Park. With NRF located west of Idaho Falls, Pocatello, and Rexburg, employees have multiple family friendly cities to choose to call home.
Responsibilities:
- Development of construction contracts (design drawings and specifications, cost estimates, quality plans, etc.).
- Development of engineering work documents.
- Commissioning, closeout, and turnover activities.
- Ensuring all three bullets above are following operational, design, regulatory, and program requirements.
- Work effectively and efficiently as a member of a project execution team.
- Providing field support and performing inspections.

REQUIRED SKILLS *
Intermediate:
- BS degree in engineering or Bachelor's degree in a science related field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of two years of relevant experience; or
- MS degree in engineering or Master's degree in a science related field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of one year of relevant experience
Advanced:
- BS degree in engineering or Bachelor's degree in a science related field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of four years of relevant experience; or
- MS degree in engineering or Master's degree in a science related field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of two years of relevant experience
PREFERRED SKILLS
- Knowledge of construction industry and building trades, practices, codes, and standards.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Word).
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks concurrently.
- Demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills and be able to effectively interact with all levels of personnel, management, vendors, and government oversight.
- Previous Naval Nuclear Laboratory (NNL) Experience.
- Motivated, self-starter who enjoys working in a team environment.
- Willingness to be trained and learn new skill(s) as needed.
