Intern, Vaccine Innovation & Global Immunization

Reports to: Manager, Research & Analysis
 
Location: Remote Work (only in CO, DE, FL, GA, IL, LA, MD, MA, NE, NY, NC, OH, OR, PA, RI, VA, WA, DC)

Position Summary:
 
The Intern, Vaccine Innovation & Global Immunization will support a range of activities that span across the Vaccine Innovation team and Vaccine Acceptance & Demand team at Sabin.
 
Responsibilities:
 
  • Conduct comprehensive searches of life science and policy databases
  • Review literature related to global health security, global health workforce development, as well as vaccine equity, investment and policy, and related areas. 
  • Extract and summarize key relevant information to support development of a literature review white paper
  • Support backgrounding of stakeholders and key informants for interviews, panels, and other engagements
  • Assist in developing materials for stakeholder outreach
  • Assist in the planning and execution of a working group of experts and support the development of readouts from the engagement
  • Assist in landscaping opportunities and contacts for strategic communications, including virtual outreach, events and multimedia content
  • Participate in webinars related to vaccine equity for low- and middle-income countries, global health security, and global health workforce development; develop readouts to share with Sabin staff
  • Other administrative duties, as assigned
 
Requirements:
 
  • Current master’s level student in public health, health policy, international development, the life sciences or a related discipline
  • Interest in vaccine equity, global health security, and/or international development preferred
  • Strong analytical, research and literature review skills
  • Proficient in core Microsoft 365 applications, video conferencing platforms, Adobe Acrobat and conducting internet searches
  • Proficiency in reference management software, such as Mendeley, a plus
  • Close attention to detail, ability to manage complex tasks, highly organized, flexible, and able to prioritize in order to meet deadlines
  • Excellent communications skills (listening, writing, speaking)
  • Available for 22-29 hours per week during the Spring 2023 semester.
