Corporate Development Analyst

SUMMARY:
Momentum is a collection of companies built to power digital commerce. Our companies are led by the brightest minds and driven by data & insights. The Corporate Development Analyst will support a global finance function which is integrated across the Momentum organization through shared systems, processes, and best practices. The Corporate Development Analyst will assist in driving the inorganic growth strategy of Momentum and its portfolio companies as the group continues to grow and evolve. This critical role will contribute to the execution of various aspects of the M&A process.

The successful candidate will work collaboratively both with the corporate development team and across departments to assist in pipeline management, financial analysis, modeling, due diligence, reporting, and integration efforts.

The ideal candidate will have an understanding of accounting and finance concepts, strong analytical & communication skills, attention to detail, the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and a desire to take ownership of deliverables, at times working autonomously. GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
  • Provide financial analysis and support across a variety of areas including, but not limited to, revenue and expense budgeting, forecasting and analysis, consolidation and presentation of financial results, deal modeling and / or investment case modeling, foreign currency analysis, cash flow forecasting and analysis, and other ad hoc projects
  • Develop and maintain complex Excel financial models, continuously finding ways to innovate and reduce time to complete key tasks
  • Produce frequent financial and key performance indicator reports including variance analysis and trends
  • Support the Corporate Development team in management of the opportunity pipeline through proactive outreach and conversations with investment professionals
  • Assist the Corporate Development team with other duties and projects, as needed, to drive strategic and financial decisions

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE NEEDED:
  • BS/BA degree in finance or accounting is required – Internship experience in corporate development, private equity, investment banking, or deal advisory is a plus
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint is required – Knowledge of Vena, Hyperion Essbase, and / or QuickBooks is a plus
  • Analytical, accurate, detail-oriented, and a self-starter – Able to meet deadlines and work successfully in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient in data mining – Able to quickly convert large amounts of information into a useable format and interpret trends to support financial decisions
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills – Able to communicate and work effectively with stakeholders across multiple business functions
