Mechanical Engineering Co-Op/Internship

Responsible for mechanical engineering tasks in the design of custom, automated equipment for ultra-high pressure industrial cleaning applications. The candidate should be familiar/proficient with SolidWorks as it will be used daily. Candidate should also be familiar with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Though not required, ideally the candidate would be available for two consecutive semesters (Summer + Fall) to maximize the ability to see projects through to completion and be exposed to a wider variety of projects. This also allows the candidate to make a little more money in the process.


Responsibilities


·        Assist engineers in design aspects of various custom hydroblasting equipment used in industrial facilities including chemical plants and refineries
·        Create layouts showing cleaning equipment deployed on customer equipment
·        Revise existing models/drawings as necessary
·        Assist with assembly and testing of new equipment
·        Work with machine shops to have new parts created


Specific Skills/Abilities


The candidate must be highly organized and detail-oriented. This position requires good problem-solving skills and a strong mechanical aptitude. Being willing to occasionally get your hands dirty is a plus as you will have the opportunity to assemble and test your designs. The ability to be flexible and change priorities is a plus as new, fast-turnaround equipment requests can come in daily.
