HR Coordinator 1

Worthington Industries is excited to be hiring a HR Coordinator. This individual provides overall human resource and benefit administrative support to Worthington's Rome facility. Responsibilities include benefit administration, payroll, staffing, employee engagement, recruitment and general administration of human resource policies and practices. The ideal candidate is an individual that is eager to grow into an HR professional. 


    * Recruiting and onboarding (Job postings, background screening, interviewing, etc.) Recommends candidates for interview and may recommend for hire
    * Employee engagement program coordination (health fairs, wellness initiatives, banquets, picnics, attendance, service awards, recognition awards, boots, glasses and uniforms, etc.)
    * Employee training administration – NESO training, monthly safety training, NYS Anti- Sexual Harassment, new hire HR orientation training, etc.).
    * Community relations - job fairs, training advancement and development with local colleges, volunteering efforts 
    * Benefit Administration (At an intermediate level; communicates, explains and answers employees questions regarding the benefit plans, Assists Corporate Benefits with promotional activities such as wellness program and new vendor programs by presenting materials.)  
    * Compensation Administration (Processing HR/Payroll related changes, profit sharing etc.)
    * Human Resource Administration (performance management, personnel and Oracle file maintenance, record retention, employee council coordination, etc.)
    * Assist EHS department on key safety initiatives - safety training and observations, environmental initiatives 
    * Analyze data related to process and practice improvements in areas of discipline application, attendance guidance, safety, wage and salary, performance evaluation consolidation and reporting etc. 
    * Coordinate travel plans to other facilities 
    * May lead or supervise HR Interns

Desired Experience
    * Intermediate knowledge of company programs (benefits, payroll, compensation, workers compensation and human resource programs)
    * Intermediate knowledge of human resources administration practices
    * Intermediate knowledge of human resources laws and regulations
    * Customer service focused
    * Organized and detail oriented
    * Ability to maintain confidentiality
    * Work independently and interact with all levels of employees (production and management)
