Position: Industrial Sales Representative (Automation/Robotics)

Overview:
Applicant will be working alongside application engineering with repeat and new customers to specify products from the Ohlheiser automation portfolio into new projects or customer products. In addition, applicant will be required to work with customers to solve problems with current business that may arise. This position is for solution-based sales of motion control components such as robotics, servo systems, motors, drives, actuators, PLC’s, motion controllers, and encoders. The components are manufactured by our primary suppliers including, but not limited to: JVL, Epson, Panasonic, Nanotech, Unitronics, Akribis. Applicant must be a degreed engineer or 3 to 5 years’ experience selling motion control products. This is business to business selling, not calling on private citizens.
 
Job Responsibilities:

  • Identifies and targets motion control opportunities throughout existing and new customer base.
  • Establishes professional customer relationships with appropriate customer personnel (purchasing, engineering, manufacturing, quality assurance, management, or other key personnel) and develops new accounts, maintains, and increases current customer base.
  • Understanding of motion control and machine control systems from a system-level viewpoint to be able to convey pertinent application requirements clearly and correctly between customer and OTC engineers.
  • Secures orders from existing and potential customers by means of visiting the customer facility and/or contacting by phone as well as MS Teams video calls.
  • Develops in conjunction with management, sales strategies to sell applicable product lines and services and implements such in order to achieve predetermined annual sales target.
  • Visits customer facilities, maintains contact and consults in order to secure sales to existing and potential customers.
  • Analyzes and researches pertinent information in order to respond to Customer inquiries regarding product features and performance, product application, product substitution and special application requests.
  • Travel within specified New England based territory required.
