Life Scientist/Environmental Engineer/Physical Scientist - R3

Summary

These positions are in Region 3, Office of the Regional Administrator, Chesapeake Bay Program Office, Science, Analysis and Implementation Branch

Duties

At the entry level of this position, you will:
- Communicate policy and procedural guidelines to state, local, and tribal water agencies, and work with them to coordinate the development of regulations, required revisions to Watershed Implementation Plans (WIPs), and source specific WIP actions;
- Assist in the evaluation of state-submitted WIP revisions for technical, procedural, and regulatory compliance with Chesapeake Bay Watershed Agreement requirements;
- Participate in providing technical assistance to state, local, and tribal air pollution control agencies on control measures and strategies to meet the requirements of the Chesapeake Bay Watershed Agreement related to Watershed Quality Standards (WQS) and other control programs, including the development or revision of WIPs.

You will spend less than 25% of your work time on contracts, grants/cooperative agreements, and/or interagency agreements.
