National As-Built Surveyor

Southern California / Northern California / Salt Lake City / Chicago (National Travel)

PPM is looking for a full-time laser scanning National As-Built Surveyor to join our Special Operations team! With over 20 years in business, PPM is one of the largest and fastest growing As-Built surveying companies in America, delivering around 2,000 projects per year to our clients in the AEC industry.  

THINGS YOU WILL DO
This is a full-time (40 hour+/week) position. In a typical week you may be expected to:
  • Travel across the US to measure buildings by capturing data with 3D Laser Scanners, cameras, and other equipment.
  • Use the data you capture to create accurate 3D point clouds of the buildings you survey.
  • Document all aspects of a building, from rooftops to basements and everything in between.
  • Absorb Scope of Work documentation to understand and determine operation procedures in the field.
  • Collaborate with your team to ensure client satisfaction on every project, no matter how simple or complex.
  • Provide positive and proactive communication on progress throughout the life of your projects.
  • Perform audits and quality control checks for your projects prior to delivery to the team.
  • Be a professional boots-on-the-ground representative for PPM to clients, tenants, and other on-site contacts.

You are tech-minded. You are interested in learning and working with new technologies, both in your work and in your personal life. 

You’re an organized problem solver. When challenges come up, you aren’t easily frustrated. You calmly assess the situation, stay focused on solutions, and take pride in tackling a tough problem. You utilize time management skills and execute processes to balance a heavy workload.

You live to travel. You can pack a carry-on with your eyes closed and cannot imagine working in the same space day in and day out. You enjoy visiting different cities and buildings during the week. You collect hotel card keys just for kicks.
 
WHAT YOU WILL BRING
  • AutoCAD and/or Revit Knowledge (4 years preferred but not required)
  • Microsoft computer skills with the ability to successfully troubleshoot in the Windows OS
  • Physical agility and endurance while handling sensitive equipment in the field
  • Strong spatial skills with the ability to quickly create a mental map of your surroundings
  • Familiarity with iterative strategies that provide constant improvement to every process you touch
