Research Intern

The Research Intern will join ClearPath’s Policy Team, the group responsible for crafting the organization’s positions and recommendations across a diverse set of clean energy technologies that can significantly reduce carbon emissions on a global scale. 
ClearPath’s Research Intern will have the opportunity to work on a myriad of projects to advance the organization’s long-term analysis, strategy, and policy.
This is a paid internship and will result in a significant professional learning experience in Washington, DC public affairs as well as building important career contacts. Work hours are flexible based on availability, but 20-40 hours per week is ideal.
Responsibilities
  • Execute research and analysis to identify clean energy trends
  • Data analysis of the U.S. power sector to support ongoing projects
  • Provide high-level, quick, and in-depth analysis of policy, politics and industry trends
  • Respond to a variety of special projects with visibility to members of Congress
  • Participate in meetings, synthesize notes and facilitate action items and follow up items.

Qualifications

  • BS or MS in environmental science, computer science, economics, engineering, law, finance, public policy, or a related field with experience in energy issues
  • Interest in clean energy technologies, energy systems, research, and policy 
  • Preference for candidates with data science and/or GIS skills and the ability to manipulate large datasets.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Proficiency in analyzing and interpreting data 

Compensation & Benefits

  • ClearPath interns are paid bi-weekly.
  • Interns are not eligible for benefits.
  • Interns will be asked to sign a non-disclosure and confidentiality form upon arrival.
