Accountant

SUMMARY: The Cost Accountant will develop, interpret and implement complex financial and accounting concepts or techniques for financial planning, controls, and analysis. The Cost Accountant will work on the design and implementation of the ERP application (Epicor) with respect to manufacturing cost accounting.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Plan, analyze, and collect data to determine cost standards for materials and labor.
  • Design and implement cost accounting systems and controls.
  • Prepare and analyze production costs and recommend changes.
  • Conduct special studies to analyze complex financial actions and prepare recommendations for policy, procedure, control, and action.
  • Prepare and analyze financial information to determine present and future financial performance.
  • Assist in the month-end close of the general ledger,
  • Assists with any other projects and duties as needed.
EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE, AND PROFICIENCIES: A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Business, or equivalent. 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment with advanced ERP system utilization. Accreditation such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) is preferred. Candidate must have the ability to prioritize, manage multiple responsibilities and meet productivity standards. Candidate must be able to recognize and have the ability to optimize processes. Excellent oral and written communication skills as well as excellent presentation skills. Strong problem solving, leadership, team building, and organizational skills. Demonstrated ability to articulate complex issues, plans, and concepts to diverse populations, including executive management.
