People & Culture Coordinator

POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the People & Culture Business Partner, this role is as key member of a service-oriented team. The People & Culture Coordinator will own a wide variety of administrative support to NESN’s People & Culture department and the company. This position is ideal for someone who is looking to gain experience in the HR field and is passionate about the people of an organization.
 
As part of NESN’s People & Culture team, you will be the first point of contact for the company, assisting our team with a variety of questions. In addition, you will assist with scheduling, maintaining systems, running reporting, auditing, and other related People & Culture activities that will directly impact the growth of the organization.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  
  • Provide administrative support to all People & Culture functions: including employee files, employment verifications, systems support/fielding questions, employee gifts, events and HRIS
  • Provides recruiting support such as posting open positions in Greenhouse, scheduling interviews, gathering reference contact information, and forwarding resumes to hiring managers
  • Works with VP on presentations, meeting coordination and scheduling
  • Completes Forms I-9, verifies I-9 documentation and maintains I-9 files
  • Administers health and benefit plans, including enrollments, changes, terminations, and reconciliation. Processes required documents through payroll and insurance providers to ensure accurate record-keeping and proper deductions
  • Conducts audits of payroll, benefits or other HR programs and recommends corrective action
  • Partner with external vendors to order promotional products for career fairs/conferences and manage candidate travel and expenses
  • Provide shipping & receiving support for the People & Culture team, including preparing company-wide mailings
  • Acts as a primary contact for employees who have administrative needs. This may include benefits questions, letters of employment etc
  • Cross trains in all functional People & Culture roles for career developmental and support experience
  • Successfully complete other related tasks and projects as needed

QUALIFICATIONS
  • 1+ years of experience in a People & Culture/Human Resources support role preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a Human Resources or Business preferred
  • Service-orientation, ability to anticipate needs and apply good judgment required
  • Prior experience providing administrative support in a People & Culture/HR department is strongly preferred
  • Project management skills are required
  • Experience with recruiting technology and social media is a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite including, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook is required
  • Must be a self-starter who can work independently with minimal supervision but also able to work effectively within a team environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and organizational skills are required
  • Strong ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment across various departments
  • Ability to successfully work in a fast paced, loosely structured, growing and changing work environment
