Agriculture Media Sales Associate located in California

Agri-Pulse, an industry-leading, multi-media agriculture communications firm seeks self-motivated sales associate to represent our products in California and adjoining Western States. This position requires a solutions-focused and strategic marketing approach for top-level executives and accounts engaged in food and agriculture production, processing, and retail who are impacted by policy decisions in Washington, D.C., and Sacramento, CA.

· Achieve sales goals with assigned targets through advertising sales, subscriptions sales, and event sponsorships

· Develop and execute sales plans, manage forecasting, inventory management, and coordinate follow-up with prospects/clients

· Work in collaboration with staff and management to develop an effective marketing plan for the region

· Manage a Free Trial Offer Program to introduce Agri-Pulse

· Effectively manage expenses and discretionary dollars

· Show initiative in developing selling skills and product / portfolio knowledge

· Work with Sacramento editor to help build awareness and positive brand recognition for Agri-Pulse West and other Agri-Pulse products

· Attend industry events and network with major California Ag organizations either in person or virtually

· Report all sales activity in Matrix CRM Sales Intelligence Platform

· Support development of Western States database of key prospects

· Travel 40% of the time…some overnight travel

· Bachelor’s degree with 1-2 years of experience in sales, marketing, or account management

· Excellent communication skills (interpersonal, oral, and written)

· Demonstrated initiative, assertiveness, and ability to drive results

· Strong business acumen, including account planning, problem solving, marketing solutions and critical thinking skills

· Sales territory management proficiency

· Strong computer and presentation skills (including proficiencies in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

· Able to analyze data to influence decisions

· Self-starter with strong time management skills

· Proven ability to support collaboration and teamwork
