Entry Level Structural Engineer

Hutchison Engineering, Inc. (HEI) is seeking an entry-level civil engineer to join our Structures Division in our Jacksonville, IL office. This position will be responsible for engineering aspects on structure replacements and rehabilitations including: surveying, roadway alignments and profiles, hydrology and hydraulic analysis, environmental submittals, preliminary bridge designs, plan development, specifications, and project estimates. The selected candidate will acquire knowledge in geometric highway design, hydraulics and hydrology, structure sizing and type selection, along with federal and state requirements for environmental review and project development. The HEI team is an experienced group of engineers and technicians that have completed highway and structure projects for the Illinois Department of Transportation and local public agencies for 76 years. Jacksonville, Illinois is an excellent place to live and start a family. With a college campus in town and a newly revitalized downtown square, there are ample opportunities for activities. Plus, we are only 30 minutes from Springfield and within an hour and a half of St. Louis, Peoria, and Bloomington.
