Engineering Development Program (CT)
The Eversource Engineering Professional Development Program is designed to provide individuals hired into an Associate Engineer position with an opportunity for career development, training, and varied work experience. The program is 2 years in duration and provides everyone an opportunity to gain experience working in at least two different engineering areas (see below) with a final placement upon successful completion of the program.

Primary Assignment Areas:
Substation Design Engineering: team works on improving the safe and reliable design and operation of the electrical transmission and distribution system. B.S. Electrical Engineering
Protection & Control Engineering: team is responsible for the design and operation of the devices and systems used to detect abnormal system conditions, such as electrical faults, and take automatic or supervisory control actions to isolate, mitigate, and restore the Transmission and Distribution system. B.S. Electrical Engineering
Telecommunications Engineering: team leads the Company efforts in strategically determining networks solutions for essential voice and data services required to operate and manage the Electric and Gas Transmission and Distribution Systems including Information Technology Systems. B.S. Electrical Engineering
Substation Technical Engineering: team plays a critical role in acceptance testing and commissioning of new substation equipment and upgrades as well as trouble shooting of installed equipment. B.S. Electrical Engineering
Transmission Line Engineering: team is responsible for the design and engineering support for the construction, maintenance, and operation of Overhead and Underground Transmission Lines on the Eversource Transmission System. BS in Civil Engineering
Capital Projects Engineering: team coordinates the engineering efforts and is the interface between engineering and other project team members on certain projects. The projects are either large in scope, are strategic in nature and / or have significant financial impact to the Company. BS in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
System Planning: team designs the distribution system to meet demand growth in the most economical, reliable, and safe manner possible. BS in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Computer Engineering. As well as Physics, Computer Science, or Applied Math
Engineers will be assigned a mentor for development and coaching while working in their developmental assignments. Engineers will receive business area briefings and technical training to prepare them for a successful career at the largest New England electric utility.
Education, Qualifications and Experience
Requires a BS in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering(System Planning only) or related Engineering. Must be able to work in a team environment, hold a valid motor vehicle operator's license. Will have storm restoration and emergency assignments.
