The Job:
The CNN mobile product team is embarking on a series of design projects to help the CNN mobile app reach its full potential as the best designed mobile news app in the world. To help make this happen we’re reimagining our UX, overhauling our design system, and designing native mobile first experiences. This is a perfect opportunity for a bourgeoning product designer to learn how to design delightful and engaging experiences for a global brand and help take the CNN mobile app to the next level.
The Daily Responsibilities:
- Discovery - Competitive analysis, user research, and cross-functional collaboration with stakeholders to help flesh out product requirements and make sure we’re designing the right solutions for the right problems
- Identifying web content, not currently available on mobile, and reimagining it for mobile
- Design - Creating written, visual, and interactive artifacts to help stakeholders understand what to build and why These include but are not limited to: Journey maps, wireframes, mockups, prototypes, and component specifications
- Validation - Conducting user interviews, analyzing feature performance and behavioral data, synthesizing findings, and providing recommendations on how to move the needle.
- Iteration - Leveraging data and user feedback to take features from MVP to best in class
- Design systems management - Evolving our UI kit and design documentation, structuring and organizing UI components for optimum versatility, scalability, and consistency
Preferred Qualifications:
- Basic understanding of Figma, Miro, HTML/CSS
- Userzoom, Domo and/or Optimizely a bonus
The Essentials:
- Must be currently enrolled as a student (proof of enrollment will be required if selected for an internship)
- Must be a rising Junior, Senior, or Graduate student (18 years or older)
- Must have at least a 3.0 GPA
- Must have the legal right to work in the United States
About the Internship Program:
- Our Spring 2023 program is a 12 Week Internship that will run from Monday, February 6th through Friday, April 28th, 2023
- Part time-schedule (16-24 hours/week) required
- Company-issued computer or secured remote access provided for the duration of the internship program
- Our internships are paid opportunities with a competitive salary. Credit is not required; however, we will provide the necessary documentation for school credit if desired. Relocation is not provided.
