Instrumentation Electronics Co-Op

Responsibilities


Seeking candidate with a strong background in electrical engineering first principles and a strong interest hardware development. Tasks will encompass all aspects of the design process including requirements development, analysis, design, simulation, test, debug, and documentation of electronics. Typical duties involve low noise amplifier design, text fixture design, and data capture analysis. The candidate will work on advanced projects and applications within the division under senior hardware engineers. The candidate will be responsible for testing in an ESD-controlled environment using a wide variety of test equipment including oscilloscopes, dynamic signal analyzers, power amplifiers, and electro-dynamic shakers. Strong written and verbal communications skills are required as well as the ability to present results to peers and management in formal and informal settings.

Qualifications


  • Applicant must be a US citizen and enrolled in an accredited engineering curriculum.
  • The candidate must be a fast, self-directed learner and must have a clearly exceptional academic record.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills are required.
  • An exceptional academic record and demonstrated laboratory competence in signal
  • Student must also have the ability to work independently as well as in a group environment.
  • Hands on technical skills such as soldering and bread-boarding are highly desirable
  • The ideal candidate has coursework and lab experience in the following areas:
  • Hands on experience in circuit design and test
  • PCB layout for mixed-signal circuits
  • Analysis and synthesis of closed-loop control systems
  • Circuit simulation using SPICE and its variants
  • Modeling and analysis using Matlab/Simulink
  • Schematic and Netlist creation using industry standard tools
