Survey/Geospatial Engineering Internship

Overview

We are seeking several highly-motivated interns to join our us for the summer of 2023.

We measure your world with a full range of geospatial data and mapping services that enable us to collect data faster, safer, and more accurately than ever before. Our innovative approach to each project is customized from the beginning by administering the appropriate method whether employing conventional, time-proven methods or cutting-edge hi-definition scanning and remote sensing techniques.
 
Our services include mobile LiDAR, 3D hi-definition and terrestrial scanning; rail and tunnel measurement; GPS/GIS and topographic mapping; subsurface utility engineering and non-destructive testing; hydrographic, wetlands and forensic surveying. Accuracy in measurement is an essential building block in the successful launch of any project. Our ability to measure geospatially from the air, ground and subsurface to provide precision data interpretation is what sets us apart as a leader within the industry.

Responsibilities

Our interns will assist technical staff on day-to-day projects in their respective disciplines.
CED internships are unique in that they are work-centered, meaning you are working on real, billable client work right away. This is a great way to gain real life experience in consulting.
In addition to the work-centered program, we also offer robust internship programming, which includes opportunities to work with other interns, learn about other areas of the business, and develop valuable communication skills and networking connections.
 

Qualifications

We are looking for students who are in their sophomore year (2nd year) of their college program or higher (including Graduate students!), who have a specific interest in Survey and Geospatial work. A variety of program experiences and majors are invited to apply for these roles! 
 
All applicants should be eligible to work in the US, attend a university or college physically located in the United States, be highly motivated, able to work in a fast paced environment, and great communication skills.
 
Students with some prior internship experience are preferred, but any candidates who apply will be reviewed and considered for different roles.

Physical Requirements

Many of these roles will require the individual hired to complete WorkFit Assessments, be able to carry and lift up to 50lbs, and be able to walk long-distances outdoors on uneven terrain. 


Working Conditions/Environment

Our internships are a combination of real, billable client work, meaning design, field work, and site visits may all be included.

On average, we make full-time, permanent offers to students approaching graduation within a year more than 50% of the time.
